I was a single Mom when I decided that a college education was the best way for me to provide for my family. I graduated in 2007 with an A.S. in Environmental Studies and in 2009 with a B.A. in Environmental Science.
After graduation, I moved to Arivaca where I worked for the federal government in science, tended to my chickens and goats, owned a small business, and loved getting lost for a few hours in the nearby hills and canyons. After a career change with the judicial branch, I am back in the science field and energized about running for Pima Community College.
My eldest son is a PCC student and my youngest has a long way to go before he decides on a career path. Yesterday, he wanted to be an engineer, today an artist, and tomorrow he will likely be moved by something else entirely!
I am proud to have been awarded with the US Department of Justice FBI Community Service Award, the District 2 Community Recognition Award, and the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson's Women's Leadership Award. I am a tireless advocate for our community, and believe we can accomplish great things if we work together.
Come to Arivaca, and you might find me deep in a novel from the library or exploring the many hidden canyons.
